Rivet Shelving

Sometimes called boltless shelving or particle board shelving, rivet shelving units are engineered to provide safe, economical storage of hand-loaded materials. And rivet shelving is economical and easy to assemble.

There are a variety of configurations available with rivet shelving. We recommend double rivet shelving for heavy loads (up to 1,850 lbs. per shelf level). Single rivet shelving is perfect when you're storing 250-350 lbs. per level.

With no bolts or nuts used in installation, rivet shelving requires very little effort and no special tools for assembly. Combined with outstanding value and complete strength, rivet shelving is quickly becoming a storage solution of choice for many stockrooms, warehouses, offices and anywhere else where affordable and durable storage is requires.

Record Storage Shelving Units (click to view)

These popular units are used to store record storage boxes easily and uniformly. The standard four-shelf units are ideal for secure, dry storage of record archive cartons, with easy access to the record boxes. A typical record storage unit can store up to 80 standard boxes each.

Record storage units come in starter and adder units. Adder units share common posts with the starter unit. For example, if you want a row of four units, you'd order one starter and three adders. This keeps the cost down as the units share common posts. Starter units include 4 standard angle posts, 2 double rivet angle beams right-to-left per shelf level, 2 double rivet angle beams front-to-back per shelf level, and 1 center support per shelf. Add-on units include 2 standard tee posts, 2 double rivet angle beams right-to-left per shelf level, 2 double rivet angle beams front-to-back per shelf level and 1 center support per shelf.

Particle Board?

You can use any type of decking material with your rivet shelving units, including particle board, plywood or steel wite decking. For the highest weight capacity, you'll want high-density particle board.

Though Big Dog Warehouse sells particle board, we do so with a bit of hesitation. First, it's very heavy and expensive to ship. Plus it sometimes arrives damaged. We suggest going to Home Depot, Lowes or another building supplies distributor and buying your particle board locally. You'll save money and insure that the board arrives at your location in one piece.
