Buying lockers is one thing, assembling them another. While many of our customers are up to the challenge of assembling and installing their lockers (or shelving), some prefer to have us arrange the task for them instead.
Big Dog is adept at arranging factory-authorized professional on-site assembly and installation for our customers. We've coordinated simple to complex projects all over the country, ranging from 500 to 50,000 lbs. of product.
Our installers don't get paid until you sign off on the finished project. In this way we maintain quality control over assembly and installation.

KD vs. Assembled Lockers
One consideration when ordering lockers is the cost of freight. Unassembled (KD, or "knocked down") lockers ship class 70, while assembled lockers ship class 125. The higher the freight class, the more expensive the freight. It can save you money to ship a large order KD and have a crew perform the on-site assembly and installation. If your business is in New York City or other large metropolitan area that has high labor costs, it might make more sense to ship the lockers pre-assembled. Our sales staff is well-positioned to assist you in determining the most cost and time-effective assembly and installation solution.
If you're a school or municipal organization, you may be faced with the issue of using union or non-union labor. If you by law have to use union labor, you're simply going to pay more. If this is the case, paying the extra freight and receiving the lockers pre-assembled might be your most economical solution.
Slope Tops & Other Considerations
Continuous slope tops have to be field installed. If you're using slope tops, vertical fillers, corner fillers, zee bases or recess trim, you'll want to ship the lockers KD and have the lockers professionally installed. If you're ordering three-wide lockers without any special frills, you can put them together yourself or have them shipped factory assembled.
